A Message From:
Michael J. Romagnino, Superintendent of Schools:
On December 22, 2009, the Cliffside Park School District was monitored by the New Jersey Department of Education through NJQSAC Monitoring. I am proud to report that, in the final report presented at the end of the day, Cliffside Park School District received the highest state assessment designation--High Performing District.NJQSAC is the Department of Education’s new monitoring and evaluation system for public school districts. The assessment was conducted by a team of educators, led by Bergen County Superintendent of Schools, Dr Aaron Graham. The assessment consolidates and incorporates the monitoring requirements of state laws and programs and incorporated federally required improvements. The system evaluates school districts in five key components. Based on extensive research, these have been identified to be key factors in effective school districts. These include:
- Instruction and program
- Personnel
- Fiscal management
- Operations
- Governance
Those of us who walk through the doors of Cliffside Park Schools on a daily basis already knew that we have outstanding schools. We offer a wealth of opportunity for every child. Still, having the state’s educational experts knowing it and honoring us with the title of “High Performing District” makes it a great joy for us all. I am proud to serve the Cliffside Park School District.
